About the event
Join Dal AC International in celebrating International Development Week 2024!
On February 7th, in partnership with ACIC and the Marigold Cultural Centre, we will be hosting a movie night playing He Named Me Malala, and Parasite!
International Development Week (IDW) is an annual initiative that takes place during the first full week of February. Since 1991, IDW has brought together civil society organizations, schools, businesses, government agencies, and the general public to highlight Canadian contributions to international development initiatives from coast to coast to coast and overseas. This year’s International Development Week (#IDW2024) will take place from February 4 to 10 and will be celebrated by Dal AC International, Global Affairs Canada, Canadian development organizations and Canadians with events and activities across Atlantic Canada and the country.
This year, Dal will be celebrating SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, but bringing communities together through the use of storytelling. Storytelling allows us to bring the world to ourselves, and helps us to better understand our differences, similarities, and common struggles. Storytelling helps us identify with those that we may have never even met, let alone understood, and helps us to celebrate all people and their stories, needs, and voices across the globe.
