About the event
All members of the community are welcome to come to a screening of Red Giant Production's new docuseries Gina'matimg: A Time of Learning. Inspired by conversations with Elders in her previous work The Ice Walk, Eliza Knockwood's newest work follows three Indigenous and one ally youth who seek knowledge from Epekwitk Elders and community allies to learn to survive from the land and turn reconciliation into reconciliaction.* The four youth must use the imparted wisdom and experiences to endure a 24-hour survival challenge, becoming present and one with their changing environment. This event is being held in partnership with the UPEI IKERAS (Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies) program, the UPEI Mawi'Omi Indigenous Student Centre, and the UPEI Robertson Library
Light refreshments will be provided.
