About the event

Foreign aid is facing deep uncertainty. Powerful nations are cutting Overseas Development Assistance (ODA), threatening global solidarity and long-standing partnerships for justice, climate action, and gender equality. ACIC’s 2025 Symposium, From Aid to Action, is a space to reflect, connect, and act.

As ACIC marks 50 years of solidarity and global cooperation, we bring together civil society leaders, youth, policymakers, and private sector stakeholders to ask:

  • What is the role of foreign aid in advancing global equity and justice?

  • How can we navigate shifting political landscapes to sustain and diversify funding?

  • How do we prioritize localized, long-term solutions?

Join us in Halifax on June 18-19, 2025, at Saint Mary’s University, where we will explore lessons from history and pathways to action. In times of uncertainty, we look back to move forward—learning from the past to shape a just and interconnected future.
